I welcome the opportunity to work with your vintage black and white photographs. When you contact me, we can arrange for you to send or hand deliver copies of 2+ potential photographs. If I connect and see potential in a photograph (this is the most important part) I would love to take on the challenge. You and I will then decide on a size and (since the paintings are priced by size) a price. I welcome input regarding color preferences and the details about the subjects, but artistic choices will be mine.

I would never want anyone to purchase a painting that he or she didn’t love, so here’s what I recommend: I don’t require a deposit and if you are not happy with my interpretation, at the end of the process, you are not required to buy the painting. Finding the balance between my need for artistic freedom and the desire to please a client is tricky. I can usually do both, but if not, at least the process will result in a painting that I can feel comfortable showing in my studio/gallery. But my ultimate goal is to find and recreate the emotional energy and quiet narrative that exists within your precious photograph.
